Objective
Working with horses has been a life time dream of mine. My ultimate vision is to someday represent the United States at the Olympics in the sport of Dressage. I take my position and work very seriously, and will settle no less than for absolute happiness and harmony between horse and rider.
Professional experience
I have ridden under such greats as; Anne Gribbons, Jeff Moore, Jeremy Stienburg, Gerhart Poltz, Tina Steward DMV, and currently study under Deborah Spence. I am showing 2nd Level and schooling some 3rd and 4th level movements on a 7 year old Thoroughbred Gelding. I have, with great success, taken several green horses through the beginning levels of Dressage working precisely on teaching them the foundations of Dressage.
I started my life in horses when I was just big enough to get out of their way. My father was a professional Horse Logger and taught me at a very young age how to drive horses. From there I started 4-H a year before I could officially participate at a county level. I began as a gamer, but quickly took to Western Pleasure and Trail. After a couple of successful years in 4-H I was introduced to English and Jumping. I earned Championships in Horse Bowl, judging, and Driving while taking reserves in Jumping and Public Speaking.
I continued my interest in English riding as a Pony Club member earning my C-2 in less than 2 years. I evented successfully in Oregon. While absorbing most of the showing costs myself, I earned my money showing Arabians and Mules at National Levels.
Personal Achievements
I encourage and support my students to be the kindest handler of their horse. I spend numerous hours researching and finding educational opportunities for myself so I can better help my riders. I think everyone deserves to have that special partner in their lives, and I strive to help them learn how to safely handle, ride, and return the kindness to their horse. I have students from 2-78 years old, and have trained ranch, pleasure, rodeo, 4-H, driving, and back yard pets. I prefer students to ride in their favorite saddle, and on their best friend. Positive reinforcement is the key and my ambition when I am out in an arena doing what I love. Not everyone gets the opportunity in life to live a dream. Someone was looking down on me. I hope my enthusiasm, knowledge and expertise will and does make a difference to everyone I teach.
