Have you ever known someone who was living their dreams? Come on. Can you name anyone who really does get up every morning and pinches themselves? Do you know a person who lights up a room when they start telling a complete stranger what they do? Well, now you do. Since 2004 I have been living my dream. I do light up a room when I start talking about what I do, in fact I can light up the world if I had the time. My life has been a dream since I decided to do what makes me the happiest.
Kids have become a huge part of my life. I teach students ranging from 2 years old on up to 80+ years old. I have great lesson horses, and great families that come to me for instruction. I have to admit most of my learning how to teach comes very natural to me, but I am very fortunate to have the time and resources to participate in several programs that have only bettered my teaching. 4-H has been a great resource for teaching and I have been a demo rider several times for the USDF L program, and Instructors program which allows me to audit and learn the programs.
Dressage has become my passion for sure. I have ridden and shown up through 2nd level, and taken several young horses from starting them to taking them to their first dressage show. I ride primarily with Debbie Spence from Onalaska, Washington, and do clinic regularly with J. Ashton Moore. I have ridden with too many clinicians to mention, and audit every clinic I get the chance to. The precision and beauty of this sport is addicting, and the benefits of this type of training are so important for both horse and rider.
I do ride and judge Dressage most of the time, but don’t think the training stops there. I jump, trail ride, and ground drive everyone in my training program. No horse should have to be drilled the same day after day. I think this is the primary reason my horses turn out to be successful, cheerful creatures.
I feel like everyday is a dream come true. Everyday I get to spend with one of God’s greatest creatures is a blessing to me, and getting to share it with all the people that I get to cross paths with is a bonus. Please enjoy your time on my website, and feel free to contact me.
